Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in Edge

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) provides additional security by requiring more than one data point to access your data. MFA is an authentication method in which a desktop or mobile user is granted access only after successfully presenting two or more pieces of evidence to an authentication mechanism.

Ceterus provides three options for Multi-Factor Authentication:

• Codes via Text Message
• Codes via Email
• Authentication Apps

How to Find MFA Settings in Edge

• Log in to Ceterus Edge

• Navigate to the gear icon in the top right corner

• Select User Settings

• Scroll to the Contact Info section and input or verify your Mobile Number then Save

• Scroll to the Multi-Factor Authentication section

How to Enable Text Message Verification Codes in Edge

• In the Multi-Factor Authentication section, toggle Text Message
  
• Agree to receive codes via text message by selecting OK
  
• After receiving a text message with the code, enter it Edge Web and click Submit. The text message will read “Your Ceterus security code is …”

• After entering the code, you will receive a confirmation prompt as well as an email letting you know that you have successfully set up your authentication method
  

How to Enable Email Verification Codes in Edge

• In the Multi-Factor Authentication section, toggle Email 

• We will automatically send a code to the email address you use to log in to Edge with the subject line 'Your Ceterus Security Code'
• Enter the code to Edge and submit

• After entering the code, you will receive a confirmation prompt as well as an email letting you know that you have successfully set up your authentication method

How to Login with a Verification Code 

• Enter your email address and password
• Choose to receive your code via your preferred method
  • Note that codes received via text message are valid for 60 seconds and codes received via email are valid for 5 minutes

• Enter the code and Submit

How to Enable an Authentication App

• Download an authenticator app on your mobile device, such as Authy or Google Authenticator
• In the Multi-Factor Authentication section, toggle Authenticator App

• Scan the QR code with your mobile device to receive your security code
  
• Enter the code listed in your app
• Click Enable
• After entering the code, you will receive a confirmation prompt as well as an email letting you know that you have successfully set up your authentication method
  
  

How to Login with an Authentication App

• Open the Authenticator app you synced to Edge during the setup process
• Log in to Edge
• Use the code in your app and enter it to Edge

• Click Submit
