Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in Edge

Muti-Factor Authentication (MFA) provides additional security by requiring more than one data point to access your data. MFA is an authentication method in which a desktop or mobile user is granted access only after successfully presenting two or more pieces of evidence to an authentication mechanism.

Ceterus provides two options for Multi-Factor Authentication: Text Message or Authentication Apps

How to Enable Text Authentication

1. Log into Ceterus Edge
   
2. Navigate to the Gear icon in the top right corner
3. Click User Settings
   
4. Scroll to the Multi-Factor Authentication section
   
5. To enable Text Messages, select the Text Message toggle
6. Enter your mobile phone number and click Submit. This will send a text code to the phone number you entered
   
7. After receiving a text message with the code, you will enter the code in Edge Web and click Submit. The text message will read “Your Ceterus verification code is …”
   
   
8. After entering the code, you will see a confirmation screen letting you know that you have successfully set up your authentication method
   
9. You will also receive an email from Ceterus letting you know Multi-Factor Authentication has successfully been set up
   

Logging Into Edge with Text Authentication

1. Enter your email address and password
2. A screen will populate asking to enter your Multi-Factor Authentication code
3. Press the Send Code button to receive the time-limited code via text message. You will not receive the code unless you click Send Code first
4. Enter the code in the Enter Code box
5. Click Verify
   

How to Enable an Authentication App

1. Go to Ceterus Edge to log in
   
2. Navigate to the Gear Icon in the top right corner
3. Click User Settings
   
4. Scroll to the Multi-Factor Authentication section
5. To enable an Authenticator App, click the Authenticator App toggle
6. You will need to download either Authy or Google Authenticator by following the download instructions, or use your preferred MFA application if you already have one
7. Scan the QR code to receive your security code
   
8. Enter the received code
   
9. Click Submit
10. After entering the code, you will see a confirmation screen letting you know that you have successfully set up your authentication method
    
11. You will also receive an email from Ceterus letting you know Multi-Factor Authentication has successfully been set up
    

Logging Into Edge with Authentication App

1. Log into Edge
2. A screen will populate asking to enter your Multi-Factor Authentication code
3. Use your Authentication App to sync
4. Enter the code in the Enter Code Box
5. Click Verify
