Focus on What Matters Most
We’re introducing a new way to support you in resolving key items that delay closing your books. With our updated application, you’ll see a clear, consolidated list of what we need and why, so you can focus on what matters most. Here’s what you can expect:
- Effortless transaction management: Moving forward, transactions $500 and over without a matching rule will appear on your home page, ready for you to categorize with ease. You can choose from a curated list of categorized accounts or access the full Chart of Accounts with Accountant Mode.
- Simplified small dollar transactions: Transactions under $500 without a matching rule will automatically post to the 65999 Operating In/Out account on your Profit and Loss statement. These transactions are no longer included in Transactions to Code, saving you time.
- Adjust transactions: Change coding and update vendors directly in the app or add helpful comments to guide rule creation for future automation. When looking at your P&L or Balance Sheet, you can drill down into each account, seeing all of the transactions. Click on the pencil to move most transactions to a different account. This new flow simplifies your experience and helps us deliver timely, accurate books.
Adjust Transactions
That’s right! You can the change account and vendor coding directly in the Ceterus app. After submitting a new account, refresh the page to see the changes reflected in the financials or add a comment for the transaction to be reviewed by an accountant.
Empowering Your Team
Our new application is designed to fit the needs of your team, no matter the size or structure. We’re giving you the ability to assign tailored permissions for each team member, ensuring everyone has the access they need:
- View Only: Track the number of blockers in each section without seeing details. Ideal for team members who need to be ‘in the know’ but are not directly responsible for resolving items
- View & Resolve: View blocker details and resolve them directly within the Ceterus app

Smarter Notifications, Fewer Disruptions
We’ve simplified how we communicate blockers, ensuring your team gets only the most important updates. Here’s what you can expect:
- Weekly email summaries show how many blockers are preventing Ceterus from closing the books. You can open the Ceterus app directly from this email to resolve the blockers. You will receive a weekly email only if you have unresolved blockers, so just keep up-to-date every few days.
- Blockers will no longer be emailed individually, so all updates and actions can be managed in one central location for a cleaner, more efficient process.
- Closed financials will be available by the due date if all blockers are resolved, but we’re no longer sending email notifications for closed books.

We’re excited to announce that we’re uniting all our offerings under the name Ceterus (pronounced SEH-ter-us). In Latin, Ceterus means ‘the rest’ - we focus on providing timely and accurate financial statements. By simplifying our branding, we’re making it easier than ever to access everything you need in one place.
